Most moles are harmless and need not to be removed, some are removed for purely cosmetic reasons and other require removal because of some symptoms they cause such as itching , repeated irritation and bleeding..etc. We should not ignore our moles , Melanoma is an aggressive skin cancer and requires early treatment, it is our position that any mole bigger than 6 mm should be removed or at least biopsied , other signs to watch for are : Itching, repeated bleeding, sudden discoloration or enlargement in size and /or thickening of a mole. Any of these signs should trigger a consultation with the Doctor.
